The transition is expected to take place July 1, when the new fiscal year starts. As dean of Career & Technical Education Division, McMillian will join the president’s cabinet, which includes the dean of Student Services, the dean of Arts & Sciences, the human resources director, the chief financial officer and the facilities director. McMillian, of Park Hills, will oversee 39 full-time faculty and 143 adjunct faculty members in the CTE division, which includes such programs as nursing, business education, computer information services, law enforcement and manufacturing technology. The new dean began working for the college in 1997 as a professor of business education and computer networking. He became department chair of Business Education and Computer Networking in 2001, and became computer information systems coordinator — which reports to the dean of Arts & Sciences — in 2016. He has also been an adjunct professor for Central Methodist University at their MAC center in Park Hills since 2002. Before coming to MAC, McMillian worked at Sanford Brown College in Granite City, Illinois, from 1988 to 1990. From 1990 to 1993, he worked as a systems support representative and as an implementation consultant for Alcon Systems Inc. in St. Louis. From 1993 to 1997, he worked for AMS Services Inc.
